👉The President of India is the head of state of India and is elected for a term of five years. The President is elected by an Electoral College, which consists of elected members of both houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) and the Legislative Assemblies of the States.

👉The President of India can be re-elected for any number of terms, but each term is for a period of five years. The President can also resign from his/her post before the end of the term.

👉The first President of India was Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who served from 1950 to 1962. The current President of India is Ram Nath Kovind, who was elected as the 14th President of India on July 25, 2017, and his term will end on July 24, 2022, unless he is re-elected for another term.
